Travel
The nearest airport is Dublin Airport, which is about a 35min drive from Bray. Remember if you are renting a car, in Ireland you drive on the left side of the road!
Things To Do
All of the wedding events will be taking place in the Wicklow County area. Here are a few of our recommendations of things to do in the area, picked from our trip to Ireland in July 2024!
Wicklow Way
The “Appalachian Trail” of Ireland, the Wicklow Way is a ~7 day hiking trail starting from Dublin and going south through Bray. Close to Bray are a couple of impressive sights along the trail, including the Ballinastoe Woods (shown right). The woods are a short 2 mile hike, and will make you feel like you have entered a magical faerie place straight out of Lord of the Rings (or ACOTAR if that’s your cup of tea).
Powerscourt Waterfall
A short walk from the parking lot, Powerscourt waterfall 121 meters high. With a wide field in front, it makes a great picnic spot!
Powerscourt Estate
Rated as one of the top 3 gardens in Ireland, the Powerscourt Estate is a beautiful, scenic garden (and film location of the extravagant party scene in The Count of Monte Cristo). Enjoy a pleasant day strolling through manicured Japanese and rose gardens, gaze upon impressive Greek statues, and live the life of 17th century nobility for a day.
Wicklow Mountains
This scenic drive is near Wicklow Way hiking, and offers gorgeous views of the Wicklow Mountains! It is also a popular paragliding spot. For fans of P.S. I Love You, this is that road. We had our engagement photos taken here!
